Well it has been a while since I wrote. After we left Tacoma we went to Cle Elum, Washington to visit with some friends (Cyn and Earl) we met while traveling. We just stayed 2 nights but it was a great visit.
While there we visited one of the most unique cemeteries we have even seen. It was in a very small town in Roslyn, Washington. The town is only about 800 people. Roslyn was founded in 1886 as a coal mining town. For all you union people out there, the Knights of Labor shut down the mines in 1888 with a strike and because they had no workers, the mines recruited black miners from the east to replace of the striking miners. In an 1892 mining accident, 45 miners were killed in an explosion. It was the deadliest mining accident in Washington history. The town hit its peak population, around 4,000, during the 1920s, before the coal industry started to wind down. This cemetary was segragated by lodges Knights of Labor, Elks, IOOF, Red Men, by country of origin Slovak, Italian, and Polish. Blacks were barried sepaeratly and today their graveyard is one of the nicest.
After that I took a 3 week trip to Pennsylvania and did some remodeling for the kids. At Penny's rental we put down hardwood floors, installed cabinets, did molding, put up cabinet in bathroom, and of course installed a new toilet. There was a lot of other things we did also. In dawns house we put up a new ceiling (wood planks), painted, and installed carpet. All in all I got my fix of repairing things.

From there I flew back to Sand Point, Idaho and have been staying with some friends, Bob and Beth. Beth was one of the doctors I worked with at Kaiser. They live on Ponderay, Id near Coeur d’Alene, ID. It is beautiful, but has been very hot here.
