These past two weeks have been just wonderful. We are in an incredibly beautiful area right on the Panhandle in Destin, Florida. Maybe a place to settle someday???? We have had so much fun here doing very little. All the recent storms passed us by at night while we were sleeping, leaving the days gorgeous with a lot of time to lay out in the sun and just enjoy ourselves. The only downside to this location is there is no place to play pickleball and for the most part, the people here have never heard of it.
Jerry and Neil spent hours fishing. They fished on the dock, the bank, in the ocean and they even went out on a fishing trip. They caught a few ocean catfish from the bank, but threw them back. On the fishing trip they caught a variety of fish. They were awful, leaving a terrible taste in our mouth. They both seemed to enjoy themselves sitting for hours looking out at their fishing lines. :)
We went out on a little harbor cruise one evening and like everything else it was just beautiful. It was just the four of us and the Captain. With our drinks and snacks the two hours went by fast. We saw some dolphins which was quite exciting.
One of the most exciting parts of the trip was when we went into Pensacola and watched the Blue Angles fly. They have practice sessions that are open to the public two days a week. It is like a regular show. They are so good and so precise. There was also a air museum on the base to visit. What a fun time.
